Interior

The cabin of the 2026 Prius has been refined to offer a quieter, more comfortable experience, especially for daily New England drives. Up front, there is a digital gauge cluster positioned directly in front of the steering wheel so the driver can monitor speed, hybrid system status, and other key metrics without having to shift focus too far. Seats in base trim come with cloth upholstery, while higher trims offer SofTex or faux-leather trimmed options. In upper levels, ventilated front seats and heated front seats are available, which help with cold mornings typical in Colchester winters. Performance

Under the hood, all trims use a 2.0-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine integrated with Toyota’s hybrid system. Front-wheel drive is standard; all-wheel drive is offered in certain trims via an electric motor at the rear axle, which improves traction during snow or slippery roads—a plus during Colchester winters. The system produces around 194 hp in FWD models and slightly more (≈196 hp) when AWD is added. The transmission is a continuously variable automatic (CVT).
